I have counseled my clients regularly that your credit report can break you or make you when it comes to a job. Most people fail to take their credit issues seriously until something important like a job is taken away from you. I’m sorry to see what happen at that firm, but there is hope. A person can always bounce back restore their credit.

I’m undergoing a security clearance check now, because of my bad credit caused by a recent divorce, I will probably be unemployed by the end of the year, have 27 years of government service, its just a RIF tool !!!!

Forcing people out of jobs because of lower credit scores and delinquent accounts is not going to help our economy. The more people who are out of work, the more spending stops, the more people on unemployment benefits, food stamps or welfare. And what about the people who resort to crime? We must ask ourselves, do we really want to make it harder on our people and the economy. Maybe employees need to start carrying guns to work, so that when they get that discriminatory pink slip, they can just blow the bosses friggin head off.

I can see where the pressures while having financial difficulties might become a security risk for certain positions, but firing doesn’t take into account there are many temporary issues that can cause poor credit scores.
