Transunion Lawsuit…time to cash in is running out!
The credit reporting agency, Transunion settled on a class action lawsuit by setting aside 75 million dollars nearly 2 years ago. Now, this amount is but a drop in the bucket and a baby slap on the wrist for this particular credit bureau but that discussion is for another day!
The reason if you’re not familiar should knock your socks off, make you down right red eyed with blood rising to your head causing those vessels to bulge. Why? Well during the years of 1987 to 2000 Transunion was caught selling your most private information in some cases year after year making tens and tens of millions in profit off your information. This action is against the law, a violation of the FCRA, but if you received credit offers in the mail how do you think those marketing companies got the names and addresses of the correct people to market to?
Bottom line is you had a car loan, credit card, line of credit, student loan or for that matter almost any line of credit then you might be able to get in on the action and get some cash!
You’ll need to hurry and make your claim by Sept 6, 2010! My man Ryan Thompson a partner with Walls, Guerra, and Craft LLP does a great job explaining so LISTEN IN and you’ll find the link to make your claim.
My recommendation…you owe it to yourself as $100 to $1000 per violation is to be paid out but it will take you some time to complete the necessary complaint forms. Take this opportunity to get some compensation for the “grief” you’ve experienced in how the credit agencies have treated you and your most private information!
Do not let this opportunity slip by…

Herschel, if you look closely at the information on the link, it says the deadline is passed, even though they state on the video that the deadline is September 6.

I not surprised by the result of a lawsuit. It’s amazing that wrong information can be put on a report one day and take a life time to fix.

This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I enjoy seeing websites that understand the value of providing a prime resource for free. I truly loved reading your post. Thanks!

Kim, the time limits expired for new submissions a few days after post. We had tried to work around to get late submissions in but to no avail. Herschel

I’ve too been affected by this Trans Union scandal, But how did the lawyer you listed above get my email address?
Is Walls, Guerra, and Craft LLP a scam as well?
How are they going to give me money based on little information about me anyway… they only wanted my email address, my name, and my e-signature.

The some of that lawsuit has already been dispursed on. I heard of $443 settlement in one case. Walls, Guerra, and Craft was one of the attorney firms involved in the suit. At this point they most likely asked for only a nominal amount of info because it’s it’s past the last filing date. My understanding is not further claims can made at this point. I would suggest following up to see if anything has changed.

I was part of the lawsuit, I received several emails and filled out about 4 forms plus my application. The $443 I was supposed to get would have only amounted to $200., once the lawyer fees were taken out. I filled out the settlement form in July urging me to accept the $443. It stated that I would be among the first to receive it. I signed and returned the emailed
form the day I received it. I never received a check, I called the lawyer’s office and they seem to have amnesia. They said it was first come first served and that my name was not among the ones who received a check. I spoke to some unknown person, not the lawyers.
